The eDriven Score mobile application is an internal project undertaken by my employer, eDriven Apps LLC, based in Cincinnati, Ohio. The application caters to a primary audience of athletes, coaches, sports teams or club owners, and sports enthusiasts. It features a scoreboard functionality for sports matches registered within a sports league. While the application had been previously launched, it was subsequently deactivated. This project involves a redesign, incorporating new features, and modifying the UI appearance of the application.

This project was an internal project within my company, where I am employed. In this project, I held the position of Lead UI Designer and collaborated with the CEO (who also serves as the CTO), Project Manager, and Developer. My main responsibility was to create the UI design, convert the exist wireframe into the High-Fidelity Design, and be responsible for any visual elements like icons or illustrations.

SCOPE AND CONSTRAINT

SCOPE AND CONSTRAINT

In this project, I was responsible for the Mobile App and the Admin Dashboard. I'm focusing on the first phase of this project and the Mobile App. In this phase, I'm redesigning the UI/UX to be simpler and cleaner than the old version. I'm also turning ideas for new features into visual designs and creating a prototype. This app will have 3 roles, which are:

Non Login User :

  1. Can browse the organization and leagues.

  2. Can search a player by their EDRIVENSCORE ID.

  3. Can join to the virtual scoreboard.

  3. Can join to the virtual scoreboard.

Logged In User :

  1. Can browse the organization, team, and league.

  2. Can mark the organization, team, league or even a player as a "Favorite".

  3. Can search a player by their EDRIVENSCORE ID.

  4. Can create or join the virtual scoreboard.

  5. Will have an ability to choose specific scoreboard that will be displayed by marking favorite to the team.

  6. Will have the ability to claim their player profile and update it.

  7. Will have a feature called "Locker Room". This feature will be a place that allow this user to manage all items related to their athlete profile that has been claimed, such as personal information, awards, staff profile (if user is a staff), and youth profile (if user is a parent).

I worked on this phase from November to December 2022. Some features are not in this phase but will be added later with a 'Coming Soon' status.

Wireframe

For this project, I skipped the "Wireframe" process and directly created the high-fidelity design. It's because the timeline I have for this project is short and this app has a goal to be used for the Blue Collar Football League (BCFL) as soon. But, there are old designs for this app and a few wireframes that have been created by the Project Manager (PM). So, based on those items I have, I started converting them into the High-Fidelity design

Challenges

  1. The main challenge for me on this project is this is the first time I work on the complex application and I need to learn about how make this app easy-to-use for the target audience especially for the athletes, staffs, and managers.

  2. Another problem I faced on this project is I need to learn a few sport that I was not familiar like American Football and Baseball. That's because on this app, I need to make the information is visualize with a familiar style that can help the main user, which are athletes and managers.

Mockup

On this study case, I will provide 3 mockups based on the role that be used on this app, which are :

  1. Non Login User Screens

  2. Logged In User Screens

For this role, I only put the specific screens that related to the role, The another screens is same like as "Logged In User" screens.

The Result

After completing the initial mockup design, the application was promptly taken over by our development team. However, during the ongoing development process, I received instructions from my project manager to refine certain stuffs for improvement, such as enhancing the user experience through more effective UX copy in error messages, creating custom illustration that represented the brand, and etc. As of January 2024, the application remains in the development phase and is scheduled for deployment for BCFL's use in the year 2024.
